Posted on September 23, 2025September 23, 2025 By CWS

Menace intelligence agency Unit 221B has introduced elevating $5 million in a seed funding spherical led by J2 Ventures, with further assist from Pipeline Capital and different traders.

Based by veteran menace intelligence and expertise consultants a decade in the past, the New York-based firm focuses on offering actionable menace intelligence, together with intel that may result in hackers getting arrested.

Unit 221B has constructed a proprietary menace intelligence platform referred to as eWitness that depends on a curated community of investigators, analysts, and researchers to trace cybercriminals throughout English-speaking international locations and expose assault campaigns.

eWitness depends on human intelligence (HUMINT), a trusted group of vetted people that collectively sources high-signal menace intelligence, to seize, handle, and retailer information.

Moreover, Unit 221B gives regulation enforcement companies and worldwide enterprises with instruments and companies tailor-made for investigations and menace looking.

Over time, the safety agency was concerned in investigations resulting in menace takedowns, and the indictment and arrest of a number of cybercriminals, together with final month’s arrest of RapperBot DDoS botnet administrator Ethan Foltz.

Unit 221B will use the recent funding to boost its eWitness platform with new capabilities, and to speed up investigative collaboration and go-to-market efforts.

“Collective motion has the ability to alter outcomes. We’re uniting investigators throughout enterprises, regulation enforcement, and governments to create a safer on-line and offline world. The one approach to disrupt these prison networks is by working collectively,” Unit 221B CEO Could Chen-Contino mentioned.Commercial. Scroll to proceed studying.
