XBOW Secures $120M to Enhance AI Security Platform

Posted on March 18, 2026 By CWS

XBOW, an autonomous offensive security firm, has announced a successful Series C funding round, securing $120 million to enhance its AI-driven security platform. This significant investment elevates the company’s valuation to over $1 billion and positions XBOW for strategic growth and innovation in identifying software vulnerabilities.

Investment Details and Strategic Growth Plans

The latest funding round was led by prominent investors DFJ Growth and Northzone, with additional backing from Sofina, Alkeon Capital, Altimeter, NFDG Ventures, and Sequoia Capital. This infusion of capital raises XBOW’s total funding to $237 million, emphasizing the market’s confidence in its cutting-edge technology.

XBOW plans to utilize the new funds to accelerate its expansion, foster product innovation, and boost international growth. The company aims to enhance its AI-powered security platform, allowing it to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats and support its global clientele effectively.

Innovative AI-Driven Security Solutions

Leveraging AI reasoning and adversarial workflows, XBOW’s platform autonomously examines applications to uncover security flaws. Unlike traditional penetration testing methods, XBOW operates continuously and at machine speed, identifying and validating vulnerabilities in real-time. This approach aligns with the rapid pace of modern development cycles and the tactics of AI-powered cyber attackers.

The platform’s capabilities have been validated through live system testing and have earned XBOW a top position on the HackerOne leaderboard. By autonomously executing targeted attacks, the platform provides security teams with deep insights into potential vulnerabilities, offering clear and reproducible proof of exploits.

Expertise and Vision Behind XBOW

Founded by Oege de Moor, the creator of GitHub Copilot and GitHub Advanced Security, XBOW benefits from a wealth of expertise. The core team includes engineers from the original Copilot team, with Nico Waisman, former CISO at Lyft, serving as the current CISO. His team of human hackers played a crucial role in training the AI system to think and act like hackers.

De Moor emphasizes the necessity for defenders to leverage AI technology as attackers do. XBOW’s platform provides a continuous, machine-speed response to threats, and the recent funding will enable the company to extend its reach across the industry.

As cybersecurity threats evolve, XBOW’s innovative platform represents a significant advancement in the field, offering robust solutions to help organizations proactively defend against emerging vulnerabilities.
