MokN Secures $15M to Boost Phish-Back Security Platform

Posted on May 29, 2026 By CWS

French cybersecurity startup MokN has successfully raised $15 million in a Series A funding round, elevating its total funding to $18 million. The Paris-based company, established in 2023, aims to transform identity protection by deploying honeypots within enterprise systems to expose compromised credentials.

Innovative Identity Security Approach

MokN differentiates itself by using highly realistic decoy access points to confound attackers. This innovative phish-back strategy enables organizations to intercept and deactivate stolen credentials before they are exploited. By adopting this approach, MokN is setting new standards in cybersecurity.

Funding and Expansion Plans

The recent funding round was spearheaded by Google Ventures, with additional contributions from DataDog, Moonfire, OVNI Capital, and various angel investors. MokN plans to utilize this investment to extend its platform’s reach into the US market, addressing the prevalent issue of credential-based breaches. According to the latest Verizon DBIR, credential abuse accounted for approximately 13% of confirmed data breaches in 2025.

To bolster its global presence, MokN intends to open offices in both the US and the UK. The company also aims to expand its workforce, focusing on sales, marketing, and customer success teams to support this growth.

Future Developments and Industry Impact

MokN is committed to enhancing its engineering team and intensifying research and development to advance its phish-back platform’s capabilities. Gautier Bugeon, MokN’s co-founder and CEO, emphasizes the importance of their mission, having experienced the challenges of compromised identities firsthand as a former SOC Manager. MokN strives to redefine industry standards with its Active Identity Recovery approach, providing a proactive defense against identity-based threats.

The company’s efforts to revolutionize identity security are paving the way for enterprises to gain a competitive edge in combating cyber threats. As MokN continues to grow and innovate, the cybersecurity landscape is poised for significant advancements.
