Analog Devices Reports Cybersecurity Breach

Analog Devices Reports Cybersecurity Breach

Posted on July 30, 2026 By CWS

Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADI), a leading semiconductor manufacturer headquartered in Massachusetts, has recently announced a security breach following a hacker attack identified last month. The company, known for its analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing chips, employs around 24,000 people and generates an annual revenue of $12 billion.

Details of the Security Breach

In a statement filed with the SEC on Wednesday, Analog Devices disclosed that unauthorized access to certain systems was detected on June 23. With assistance from external cybersecurity professionals, the company has been investigating the breach. Although it was confirmed that some files were exfiltrated, the specific nature of the compromised data remains unspecified.

Analog Devices assured stakeholders that the breach did not disrupt its operations, and there is currently no evidence of the stolen data being leaked or misused. Consequently, the company does not foresee any significant impact on its business operations or financial stability due to this incident.

Emergence of New Cyber Threats

In an additional note within the SEC filing, the semiconductor firm mentioned an unrelated cybersecurity issue reported on July 26, 2026. The company is assessing the validity and potential implications of this new threat. The report is believed to be linked to a new cyber extortion group, ExfilSquad, which claims to have stolen 570,000 records from Analog Devices.

ExfilSquad is known for data theft activities without employing file-encrypting ransomware. Its alleged victims, listed on its leak site, include major entities such as Microsoft and several city administrations. However, recent analysis by SOCRadar suggests that some of these claims may be exaggerated or untrue. Notably, Analog Devices is no longer mentioned on the crime group’s site.

Implications and Future Outlook

As the investigation continues, Analog Devices is actively engaging with security experts to strengthen its defenses against such threats. This incident underscores the growing cybersecurity challenges faced by companies in the technology sector. The industry must remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding sensitive information.

SecurityWeek has reached out to Analog Devices for further comments regarding the situation. As this story develops, stakeholders and customers will be keenly observing any updates to understand the broader implications of these cybersecurity challenges.
