Ex-NSA Chief Paul Nakasone Opens Security Advisory Firm

Ex-NSA Chief Paul Nakasone Opens Security Advisory Firm

Posted on August 21, 2026 By CWS

Retired General Paul M. Nakasone, who previously led the National Security Agency (NSA) and U.S. Cyber Command, has unveiled a specialized advisory firm focusing on national security.

Introduction of the Nakasone Group

The newly established Nakasone Group aims to provide counsel to government officials, corporations, high-net-worth families, and private clients dealing with cybersecurity and geopolitical threats. The firm aspires to offer the same level of security advice typically reserved for government entities to a broader audience.

“Having spent over thirty years in military service — particularly overseeing U.S. Cyber Command and the NSA — I recognize the rapidly changing landscape of threats,” Nakasone stated on LinkedIn. He emphasized the firm’s commitment to delivering high-standard, discreet security solutions.

Leadership and Services

Nakasone leads the firm as its founder and chairman. Brett Goldstein, formerly with the Defense Digital Service, has been appointed as the chief executive. The company’s offerings include private cyber defense, digital security for families, fraud protection, and international travel security.

The Nakasone Group’s services are tailored to protect influential individuals and families who may not have access to the robust security measures found within governmental or large corporate environments.

Comprehensive Cyber Defense

With a focus on cyber defense, the firm advises clients on safeguarding their home networks, personal devices, and online privacy. The goal is to equip high-profile clients with the necessary tools to counter sophisticated cyber threats.

The firm also provides guidance on securing communications and devices during international travel, preparing for surveillance, and evaluating geopolitical developments that may impact clients’ interests.

Expert Advisory Team

The advisory team is composed of seasoned professionals from military, intelligence, law enforcement, and technology sectors, including former DEA chief Anne Milgram and retired Air Force Lt. General Charles “Tuna” Moore.

During his tenure, Nakasone led significant reforms in U.S. cyber operations, enhancing the reach and strategy of U.S. Cyber Command in confronting foreign cyber threats.

As the Nakasone Group begins its operations, it seeks to bring unparalleled security expertise to those navigating a complex and ever-evolving threat landscape.
