Critical Vulnerabilities Patched by Top Cybersecurity Firms

Critical Vulnerabilities Patched by Top Cybersecurity Firms

Posted on September 18, 2026 By CWS

Leading cybersecurity companies, including Check Point, Kaspersky, and Tanium, have successfully addressed critical vulnerabilities in their software products. These vulnerabilities, if left unpatched, could have allowed cybercriminals to execute remote code and compromise sensitive systems. The swift action taken by these firms underscores the importance of maintaining robust security measures in the digital landscape.

Check Point Responds to Critical Flaw

Check Point has alerted its customers to a severe vulnerability identified in its Security Management and Log Server products. Labeled as CVE-2026-91843, this flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code with root privileges during the login process. Despite the potential risks, Check Point reported that there is no current evidence of this vulnerability being exploited in the wild. However, the company has proactively provided indicators of compromise (IoCs) to help users detect any suspicious activity related to this issue.

Customers who have not enabled automatic updates are strongly advised to apply the patch immediately to safeguard their systems from potential attacks. This proactive measure is essential for preventing unauthorized access and maintaining data integrity.

Tanium Addresses Multiple Security Concerns

This week, Tanium released five advisories pertaining to both high and medium-severity vulnerabilities. Notably, two high-severity SQL injection vulnerabilities were discovered in Tanium Asset. These vulnerabilities could permit authenticated attackers to access and manipulate restricted data or interfere with SQL queries. Additionally, the Threat Response tool has been updated to fix vulnerabilities that could have facilitated server-side request forgery and improper access control, potentially leading to unauthorized data access and alert manipulation.

By addressing these vulnerabilities, Tanium reinforces its commitment to protecting its users from potential security threats. Users are encouraged to update their systems promptly to mitigate any risks associated with these vulnerabilities.

Kaspersky Updates on Redis Vulnerability

On September 17, Kaspersky issued an advisory regarding a vulnerability in Kaspersky Security 10 for Linux Mail Server. This vulnerability, initially discovered in 2023 within Redis, could lead to product malfunctions or allow an attacker to execute code when processing specific file formats. Kaspersky’s timely update highlights the ongoing need for vigilance in monitoring and addressing software vulnerabilities.

The actions taken by Check Point, Kaspersky, and Tanium highlight the critical role cybersecurity firms play in safeguarding digital infrastructures. As cyber threats evolve, the importance of regular updates and security patches cannot be overstated. Organizations are urged to remain vigilant and ensure that their systems are consistently updated to prevent potential breaches.
