Data Breach at Conduent Exposes Volvo Group Employees

Data Breach at Conduent Exposes Volvo Group Employees

Posted on February 11, 2026 By CWS

Volvo Group North America has been significantly affected by a recent data breach at Conduent, a prominent business services provider. This incident has compromised the personal information of nearly 17,000 employees.

Details of the Conduent Breach

Conduent discovered unauthorized access to its systems on January 13, 2025. An investigation revealed that the breach had been ongoing since October 21, 2024. The attackers accessed sensitive personal data including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, birth dates, health insurance details, and medical records.

In February 2025, the Safepay ransomware group claimed responsibility for the attack on Conduent. This admission has raised concerns over the security measures in place at the company.

Impact on Volvo Group Employees

Conduent provides various services such as document processing and payment integrity to affected companies, including Volvo Group. The breach’s impact on Volvo was disclosed to the Maine Attorney General, revealing that close to 17,000 employees were affected. Volvo became aware of the breach only in January 2026.

The wider implications of the breach are substantial, with initial reports suggesting about 10 million individuals affected. However, recent updates indicate a far broader impact, with numbers in Texas alone rising from 4 million to 15 million affected individuals.

Wider Repercussions and Ongoing Concerns

Despite the scale of the breach, Conduent has yet to update the Maine Attorney General’s Office on the total number of affected individuals. Previous reports indicated that 374 Maine residents were impacted, but the overall figures remain undisclosed.

This incident follows another third-party breach affecting Volvo Group in September 2025, involving a Swedish IT company, Miljödata, which also faced a ransomware attack.

The Conduent data breach highlights the critical importance of robust cybersecurity measures and the potential wide-reaching effects of such incidents on organizations and individuals alike.
