TRM Labs Secures $70M for AI in Blockchain Security

Posted on February 4, 2026 By CWS

TRM Labs, a firm specializing in blockchain intelligence, has successfully acquired $70 million in a Series C funding round. This significant investment aims to enhance its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, focusing on combating criminal networks and addressing threats to national security. With this new funding, TRM Labs’ valuation has reached an impressive $1 billion.

Investment Details and Participants

The funding round was spearheaded by Blockchain Capital, with notable contributions from CMT Digital, Goldman Sachs, Bessemer Venture Partners, DRW VC, Y Combinator, Thoma Bravo, Alumni Ventures, Citi Ventures, Brevan Howard Digital, and Galaxy Ventures. This latest financial boost brings the company’s total funding to approximately $200 million. The resources will be directed towards expanding engineering capacities and hastening the rollout of AI-driven investigative tools.

Enhancing Blockchain Monitoring and Security

TRM Labs offers a sophisticated platform for monitoring and scrutinizing transactions across various blockchains. This technology is pivotal for law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, and crypto enterprises aiming to detect and prevent fraud, money laundering, and other illicit activities. By integrating data from over 200 million digital assets, the platform enables real-time tracking of fund movements, enhancing the ability to trace and disrupt illegal operations.

Impact on Global Security and Financial Integrity

The blockchain intelligence platform from TRM Labs is instrumental in identifying and dismantling illegal activities, including ransomware attacks, terrorism financing, international crime syndicates, and fraud networks. The company’s efforts in analyzing major cryptocurrency thefts have been noteworthy. Co-founder and CEO Esteban Castaño highlighted the critical role of AI, stating, “AI is one of the most important technologies of our generation, and where it’s applied matters.” The new funding will empower their team to innovate and collaborate with institutions tackling significant threats to public safety and financial integrity.

In conclusion, the capital influx positions TRM Labs to leverage AI in fortifying critical systems against evolving cyber threats. As they continue to develop their AI capabilities, the company’s efforts will significantly enhance blockchain security and contribute to a safer global digital environment.
