Navia Data Breach Affects Millions

Posted on March 20, 2026 By CWS

Nearly 2.7 million individuals have been affected by a significant data breach at Navia Benefit Solutions, a third-party benefits administrator. The company disclosed that personal data was compromised, raising concerns over security and privacy.

Details of the Data Breach

Navia Benefit Solutions discovered the breach on January 23, following an investigation that revealed unauthorized access lasting from December 22, 2025, to January 15, 2026. During this period, hackers accessed sensitive personal information including names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, and health plan details.

The company’s response involved securing their systems, evaluating the compromised data for sensitive information, and notifying affected individuals via postal mail where addresses were available. This breach underscores the ongoing challenges in protecting personal information in the digital age.

Impact and Response

This week, Navia reported to the Maine Attorney General’s Office that approximately 2,697,540 people were potentially affected. In response, the company is offering those impacted 12 months of complimentary identity theft and credit monitoring services.

Navia has advised the affected individuals to remain vigilant against identity fraud. They recommend regularly checking account statements and credit reports for unusual activities or errors that could indicate fraudulent activity.

Company Background and Related Incidents

Based in Renton, Washington, Navia Benefit Solutions specializes in benefits administration, consumer-directed healthcare, spending accounts, and compliance solutions across the United States. This incident is part of a broader trend of data breaches affecting various sectors, emphasizing the need for robust cybersecurity measures.

Other recent breaches include the Marquis data breach impacting 672,000 individuals and another involving security firm Aura, which affected 900,000 records. Furthermore, Bell Ambulance faced a breach impacting 238,000 individuals, demonstrating the widespread nature of these cyber threats.

The Navia data breach highlights the critical importance of cybersecurity practices in protecting personal information and the ongoing risks posed by cybercriminals. As companies continue to enhance their security protocols, consumers are urged to stay informed and proactive in safeguarding their personal data.
