Palo Alto Networks, a leader in cybersecurity solutions, has announced the acquisition of Console, an innovative AI-native platform. The acquisition aims to enhance the company’s capabilities in developing agentic workflows and automating operational tasks using natural language processing.
Enhancing Cortex Platform with AI
The integration of Console’s technology is set to significantly bolster the agentic functionalities of Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex platform. This enhancement will empower security teams to effectively investigate signals, prioritize tasks, and automate actions within enterprise environments. By enabling users to articulate operational objectives in natural language, the platform facilitates AI agents in conducting necessary analyses and executing actions swiftly.
Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora emphasized that the acquisition allows customers to interact directly with data, fostering the creation of agentic workflows that facilitate automatic issue resolution and alert remediation.
Financial Details and Strategic Growth
While the financial specifics of the acquisition were not disclosed, it coincided with the release of Palo Alto Networks’ financial results for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. The company reported a 34% increase in revenue, totaling $3.41 billion, alongside a similar rise in remaining performance obligations, which reached $21.2 billion.
Despite recording a GAAP net loss of $282 million, equivalent to 35 cents per diluted share, this contrasts with a net income of $254 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Nonetheless, Palo Alto Networks successfully secured nearly $1 billion in net new next-generation security annual recurring revenue (ARR) during this period.
