Fake BTS Concert Ticket Websites Scam Fans Globally

Cybercriminals are exploiting the excitement surrounding BTS’s highly anticipated ARIRANG world tour by setting up counterfeit ticket websites, deceiving fans across multiple countries. This scam has quickly spread to nine different nations, marking one of the most widespread concert ticket frauds in recent history.

BTS’s Return Sparks Ticket Frenzy

BTS, a leading K-pop group, announced their world tour after a nearly four-year hiatus, during which members fulfilled military service obligations in South Korea. The tour announcement generated immense excitement, resulting in an immediate surge in ticket demand. Such events naturally attract cybercriminals who seek to take advantage of the situation.

Researchers from Kaspersky have identified at least 10 fraudulent domains, constructed in early April 2026, that mimic official pre-sale pages for BTS concerts in countries like Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and others. These sites closely replicate the original designs, making it difficult for fans to detect the deception.

One key aspect of the scam is the payment process, particularly in Brazil. The Brazilian ticketing system, which involves pre-booking online and paying in person, has been manipulated by scammers. These fake sites often redirect payments through PIX, a Brazilian instant payment system, further complicating recovery for victims.

The scam heavily relies on creating a sense of urgency, with fake error messages urging fans to act quickly. To protect against such scams, it is crucial to access ticketing platforms directly through official URLs, rather than via links on social media or emails.
