SecurityWeek, in collaboration with MTSI, is set to offer the Cyber Attack Methods (CAM) course during the 25th Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Cybersecurity Conference this October. This marks the second year of this initiative, aimed at enhancing understanding of cyber-physical system threats.
Understanding Cyber-Physical Threats
Traditional methods of grasping adversary tactics in cyber-physical environments often fall short. Defense strategies demand a deeper insight into how attackers navigate and exploit these systems. The CAM course, scheduled for October 6-8 at the W Nashville, provides a hands-on experience, aligning with the 25th anniversary of the ICS Cybersecurity Conference.
Adversary Perspective Training
Cyber-physical systems integrate digital and physical components, and attacks on these systems can have far-reaching consequences, impacting safety and service availability. The CAM course immerses participants in an offensive role, allowing them to engage in system exploration, vulnerability identification, and mission-critical attack execution within a controlled environment. This practical approach enhances understanding beyond theoretical discussions.
The course is designed not to cultivate hackers, but to equip system designers, builders, and protectors with insights into attacker methodologies. While cybersecurity professionals are the primary audience, the CAM course is also valuable for a wider range of roles, including engineers, developers, and testers involved in cyber-physical systems. No prior cybersecurity experience is needed for this course, though familiarity with Linux and programming will enhance the learning experience. MTSI’s team, with extensive expertise in various security disciplines, leads the training, ensuring participants gain relevant and practical knowledge.
Comprehensive Conference Experience
The CAM course comprises a full day of instruction on October 6, followed by half-day sessions over the next two days, allowing attendees to participate in other conference activities. The $3,995 registration fee covers the entire training, a virtual machine for exercises, a completion certificate, full access to conference sessions, meals, and networking events.
Participants retain the virtual machine post-event for continued learning. Prospective attendees should note that an Intel-based laptop is required, and the course is exclusive to U.S. citizens.
The 2026 ICS Cybersecurity Conference, running from October 6-8 at the W Nashville, will assemble a diverse group of professionals, including engineers, IT and OT security experts, and government officials, to commemorate SecurityWeek’s milestone anniversary.
