Alice Secures $140 Million to Combat AI Threats

Posted on August 25, 2026 By CWS

Alice, a leader in AI security, has successfully raised $140 million in a recent funding round, highlighting the increasing focus on safeguarding artificial intelligence systems. The round, spearheaded by Apax Digital Funds, also saw participation from prominent investors such as SentinelOne, Samsung Electronics, and Maj Invest. This infusion of capital elevates Alice’s total funding to $280 million, valuing the company at nearly $1 billion, as per Bloomberg’s analysis, though Globes suggests a valuation closer to $800 million. In conjunction with this financial boost, Apax Digital is set to join Alice’s board, further strengthening their strategic position.

Surge in AI-Related Cyber Threats

The latest funding arrives amid a rising tide of cyber threats targeting AI systems. As reported by Bloomberg, malicious actors are shifting focus from conventional network perimeters to sophisticated AI models, increasing the urgency for robust security measures. Alice’s approach targets the multifaceted vulnerabilities inherent in AI systems, emphasizing the need for defenses against previously unseen attack patterns.

Founded in 2018 under the name ActiveFence, Alice has developed an extensive dataset known as “Rabbit Hole” to log real-world attacks. This dataset forms the backbone of their platform, which is designed to test, defend, and monitor AI models through various stages, from pre-launch red-teaming to ongoing production testing. This comprehensive approach aligns with the growing enterprise demand for specialized AI security solutions.

Expanding Capabilities and Market Reach

With the newly acquired funds, Alice plans to enrich its dataset and enhance its model-testing technologies. The company is also set to scale its market efforts, focusing on foundation model labs and enterprises integrating AI into their operations. CEO Noam Schwartz notes that Alice is nearing $100 million in annual recurring revenue, with an impressive growth rate exceeding 500% over the past two years.

The company collaborates with eight of the top ten AI model labs and safeguards over three billion online users, with notable clients including Anthropic, Google, and Nvidia. These metrics underscore Alice’s pivotal role in the AI security landscape.

Strategic Positioning in AI Security

Alice’s growth is fueled by one of the industry’s most extensive AI security research divisions, comprising over 150 researchers dedicated to preventing AI system failures. The company rebranded from ActiveFence to Alice in January 2026, reflecting a strategic shift from content moderation to direct AI security, addressing vulnerabilities such as prompt injections and adversarial inputs.

This funding round positions Alice among the forefront of cybersecurity vendors developing specialized defenses for AI infrastructures. As AI becomes integral to enterprise operations, Alice’s advancements signify a broader trend towards prioritizing AI-specific security frameworks. This move highlights investor confidence in the burgeoning field of AI cybersecurity, marking it as one of the fastest-growing sectors within the industry.

Alice’s latest achievements underscore the critical importance of proactive AI security measures, as organizations worldwide increasingly adopt AI technologies. The company’s strategic initiatives promise to shape the future of AI safety and trust.
