Google and Mozilla have recently rolled out significant security updates for their Chrome and Firefox browsers, addressing a total of 115 vulnerabilities. These updates are crucial for maintaining the integrity and security of user data.
Chrome’s Latest Security Enhancements
The new release of Chrome, version 153, targets 42 security issues. Among these, three are identified as critical, while 28 are deemed high-severity. Notable critical issues include CVE-2026-91726, an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in WebGL, and two use-after-free bugs, CVE-2026-91721 and CVE-2026-91749, affecting the Internals and Workers components, respectively.
In addition to these, Google has tackled several high-severity flaws such as use-after-free, race condition, type confusion, integer overflow, incorrect authorization, and uninitialized resource vulnerabilities. Of the total vulnerabilities addressed, 16 were reported by external researchers. However, Google has only disclosed rewards totaling $2,500 for two of these reports, with 14 bug bounty amounts yet to be announced.
The updated Chrome version is now being distributed as 153.0.8010.47/.48 for Windows and macOS, and 153.0.8010.47 for Linux, ensuring users across different platforms are protected.
Firefox Update Brings Vital Fixes
Mozilla has introduced Firefox version 156, which resolves 73 vulnerabilities. This update includes fixes for 29 high-severity bugs, primarily addressing use-after-free and privilege escalation issues. Additionally, it tackles vulnerabilities related to sandbox escape, site isolation, incorrect boundary conditions, and mitigation bypass.
Unlike previous advisories, Mozilla has opted to list each memory safety issue with individual CVEs, resulting in a higher number of identified vulnerabilities. These fixes have also been applied to Thunderbird 156 and 140.16, as well as Firefox ESR 153.3, 140.16, and 115.41.

Despite the extensive list of vulnerabilities addressed, neither Google nor Mozilla has reported any active exploitations of these flaws in the wild. Nevertheless, users are strongly advised to update their browsers immediately to ensure their systems remain secure against potential threats.
