Indurex, a prominent player in industrial cybersecurity based in Amsterdam, has successfully raised €7 million, approximately $7.84 million, in a funding round spearheaded by Contrarian Ventures. Additional contributions came from Axeleo Capital and Curiosity, highlighting investor confidence in the company’s future initiatives.
Strategic Use of New Funding
The newly-acquired funds are earmarked for advancing research and development, as well as bolstering Indurex’s commercial reach within Europe and the Middle East. The company envisions further expansion into the United States and the Asia-Pacific regions, aiming to fortify its global presence in the cybersecurity domain.
Indurex is at the forefront of developing security solutions for cyber-physical systems critical to infrastructure and industrial processes. Their flagship product, SafeGuard AI, meticulously analyzes data from various control and safety systems, along with alarm management and IT security tools, to detect anomalies that require operator intervention.
Addressing Gaps in Conventional Security
The company’s innovative approach addresses deficiencies in traditional operational technology (OT) security tools, which often prioritize network-connected assets. Indurex’s vision is to integrate engineering, process, safety, and cybersecurity data, thereby providing operators with a comprehensive context for security alerts related to physical systems.
Having emerged from stealth mode in January 2026, Indurex was co-founded by Jalal Bouhdada and Maarten Oosterink, who currently serve as CEO and COO respectively. Bouhdada also founded Applied Risk, another influential industrial cybersecurity firm, which was acquired by DNV in 2021.
Early Success and Future Prospects
Indurex’s clientele already includes energy and manufacturing companies ranging from medium-sized enterprises to global corporations. The firm is also targeting utility companies and data center operators, aiming to extend its impact across various sectors.
As Indurex continues to innovate and expand, the company is well-positioned to address emerging cybersecurity challenges in the industrial sector, providing robust solutions that align with the evolving needs of critical infrastructure operators worldwide.
