AIUC Secures M to Enhance AI Agent Certification

AIUC Secures $40M to Enhance AI Agent Certification

Posted on September 16, 2026 By CWS

AIUC, the Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company, has successfully raised $40 million in its latest Series A funding round. This new influx of capital increases the total funding for the San Francisco-based company to $55 million, showcasing significant investor interest in its mission to certify enterprise AI agents.

Leading the investment round was Ribbit Capital, accompanied by additional contributions from First Harmonic. The funding is aimed at enhancing AIUC’s efforts in creating robust standards for evaluating AI technologies. Founded in 2024, AIUC has pioneered the AIUC-1 standard, a risk assessment framework designed to evaluate potential threats in AI agents.

Assessing AI Risks with AIUC-1

The AIUC-1 standard scrutinizes AI agents for vulnerabilities such as jailbreaks, hallucinations, prompt injections, unusual behavior, and data leaks. It subjects AI models to approximately 5,000 adversarial scenarios to identify risks and mitigate them effectively. Regular audits are conducted quarterly to ensure the framework remains responsive to new threat vectors.

This comprehensive approach has allowed AIUC to certify several high-profile AI agents, including those from Cursor, ElevenLabs, Fin, Harvey, KPMG, Lovable, and UiPath. By setting a high bar for AI safety and reliability, AIUC aims to address the growing concerns around AI deployment within enterprises.

Strategic Expansion with New Investment

The newly raised $40 million will be strategically utilized to expand AIUC’s audit capabilities, refine its standards, and extend insurance offerings to newer AI models. The company aims to support enterprises that have stalled AI deployments due to security review challenges, offering a clear path to certification and implementation.

According to Rune Kvist, AIUC’s founder and former Anthropic product specialist, most companies face hurdles in moving from pilot phases to full deployment of AI agents due to security concerns. AIUC’s certification processes are designed to alleviate these bottlenecks by providing clear evidence of AI security and reliability.

Future Outlook for AIUC and AI Security

With the successful conclusion of its Series A funding round, AIUC is poised to play a pivotal role in the AI certification landscape. The company’s focus on rigorous testing and certification could set new industry standards, fostering greater trust in AI technologies across various sectors.

As the demand for secure and reliable AI solutions continues to rise, AIUC’s proactive approach to certification and risk management is expected to attract further interest from enterprises and investors alike. The future outlook for AIUC involves not only expanding its client base but also enhancing the overall security ecosystem within the AI industry.
