Meta Unveils AI Assistant Muse with Privacy Focus

Meta Unveils AI Assistant Muse with Privacy Focus

Posted on September 9, 2026 By CWS

Meta has introduced a new artificial intelligence assistant named Muse, designed to aid adults in managing everyday tasks such as scheduling and shopping. This innovative tool also helps users transform long-term objectives into actionable plans.

Prioritizing Safety and Privacy

The parent company of Instagram and Facebook emphasizes the robust safety and privacy features integrated into Muse, which is currently available only in the United States. According to Meta, Muse operates on a dedicated virtual machine that securely manages both the assistant and user data.

Users can interact with Muse through a standalone app or within WhatsApp. The assistant can handle basic tasks like emailing or booking travel, while also supporting more ambitious projects like establishing a business or developing an annual fitness regimen.

Interactive and Autonomous Capabilities

Muse is designed to collaborate with users by creating personalized plans and managing resources on their behalf. It can perform tasks such as opening browsers, filling forms, and even negotiating deals, as revealed by Meta in a recent blog post.

AI agents like Muse represent an evolution beyond traditional chatbots, which are limited to responding to questions without taking action. By leveraging advanced AI language models, Muse can autonomously execute tasks that typically require detailed instructions.

Zuckerberg’s Vision for AI Superintelligence

Meta’s launch of Muse aligns with CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s ambition for AI superintelligence to be accessible to all. In a lengthy essay released online, Zuckerberg expressed his vision of a future where AI empowers individuals to create businesses, receive advanced education, and gain personalized guidance on lifestyle choices.

He envisions a personal AI assistant that comprehends user preferences and goals, operating continuously to enhance various aspects of life, from health to career management. This tool aims to provide users with more leisure time and increased productivity.

As AI technology continues to evolve, Meta’s Muse represents a significant stride towards integrating AI more deeply into daily life, promising to assist users in achieving more with less effort.
