Native Emerges with $42M to Enhance Cloud Security

Posted on March 18, 2026 By CWS

Native, a cloud security startup, has officially stepped into the spotlight by securing $42 million in funding. This substantial investment aims to tackle the pressing issue of consistent security policy enforcement across various multi-cloud environments. The company announced this development on Tuesday, marking its exit from stealth mode.

Investment and Leadership

The latest funding round, a Series A valued at $31 million, was spearheaded by Ballistic Ventures. Additional backing came from General Catalyst, YL Ventures, and Merlin Ventures. A notable addition to Native’s board of directors is Phil Venables, a former Chief Information Security Officer at Google Cloud, who now serves as a venture partner at Ballistic Ventures.

Innovative Platform for Security Enforcement

Native has crafted a platform that translates corporate security policies into specific controls tailored for major cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The platform leverages the existing enforcement features built into these providers, rather than introducing extra monitoring or detection tools. This approach seeks to streamline security across different cloud ecosystems, reducing inconsistencies and simplifying management.

Addressing Cloud Security Challenges

The core issue Native addresses is the complex nature of enterprise cloud security. Although cloud services like AWS, Azure, and others offer robust security features, companies often face challenges in effectively implementing these controls at a large scale. Inconsistencies in configurations are prevalent, particularly in multi-cloud setups, which can lead to vulnerabilities as cloud infrastructures expand.

Native’s solution provides a unified layer for security teams to specify policy intentions, which are then automatically translated into the necessary configurations for each cloud provider. This method includes protective measures such as impact simulations, phased rollouts, and structured approval processes to prevent disruptions in production environments.

Company Background and Future Plans

Founded in 2024 by experienced cloud security professionals, CEO Amit Megiddo, CPO Gal Ordo, and CTO Eyal Faingold, Native is poised for growth. Currently employing 41 individuals across the US and Israel, the startup plans to nearly double its workforce by the end of 2026. Megiddo emphasizes the importance of integrating security directly into infrastructure, allowing businesses to advance swiftly within a secure framework.

As the company continues to grow, Native’s innovative approach to cloud security promises to enhance how organizations manage their security policies across multiple cloud platforms, ensuring both efficiency and protection.
