Nutex Health Confirms Data Breach by Ransomware Group

Nutex Health Confirms Data Breach by Ransomware Group

Posted on September 1, 2026 By CWS

Nutex Health, a prominent healthcare services provider, has recently announced a significant data breach. The company revealed that both personal and business information were compromised in the incident, raising concerns over data security in the healthcare sector.

Details of the Security Breach

In a recent disclosure to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Nutex Health acknowledged unauthorized access to its systems. This breach led to the theft of sensitive files, affecting patient, employee, and provider information, as well as business and financial data.

The healthcare company has reported that the stolen data is at risk of being publicly exposed by the perpetrators. However, Nutex Health has assured that, at this point, there has been no significant impact on its operational or financial systems.

Ongoing Investigations and Legal Challenges

Nutex Health continues to assess the full extent of the breach and its repercussions. The company has informed the SEC about a class-action lawsuit filed in Texas, underlining the potential legal challenges ahead.

Currently, Nutex is unable to determine the litigation’s outcome or the incident’s potential effects on its strategic and financial operations or its stock value. The situation remains under close examination as the company works to mitigate any further risks.

Ransomware Group Claims Responsibility

The Gentlemen ransomware group has taken responsibility for the breach. Known for its ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) model, this group has been active since mid-2025, targeting organizations worldwide with over 580 confirmed victims across 75 countries.

The group employs a dual extortion tactic, encrypting and extracting data to exert pressure on its victims. Nutex Health is now listed on the group’s dark web site, where they threaten to release the stolen data within nine days.

This incident underscores the ongoing threats posed by ransomware attacks to the healthcare industry, highlighting the necessity for robust cybersecurity measures.
