Hasbro Faces Cyberattack Disrupting Operations

Hasbro Faces Cyberattack Disrupting Operations

Posted on April 1, 2026 By CWS

Toy and game industry leader Hasbro announced on Wednesday that it is grappling with a cyberattack, which has led to disruptions in several of its operational processes. The company has taken steps to address the situation while continuing its business activities.

Unauthorized Network Access Detected

In a recent SEC filing, Hasbro disclosed that it identified unauthorized access to its network on March 28. To mitigate the impact, certain systems have been temporarily shut down as part of their incident response strategy. The company’s immediate priority is to assess the extent of the breach.

With the help of external cybersecurity specialists, Hasbro is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the full scope of the intrusion. This includes verifying if any sensitive files or data have been compromised during the breach.

Continuity Plans in Place

Despite the ongoing challenges, Hasbro has implemented business continuity measures to maintain its core operations. These interim plans are designed to allow the company to continue fulfilling orders and shipping products while addressing the cybersecurity incident.

Hasbro anticipates that these temporary measures might be necessary for several weeks before the situation is completely resolved. The company has acknowledged that some delays may occur as they work through the complexities of the incident.

Potential Ransomware Attack

Initial analysis suggests that the cyberattack may involve file-encrypting ransomware and potential data theft. Although no cybercrime group has claimed responsibility, it is common for such groups to delay public acknowledgment until negotiations with the victim are unsuccessful.

Hasbro is committed to enhancing its security posture and will implement additional measures, including necessary notifications, based on the findings of the ongoing investigation. The company is focused on restoring its systems and protecting its network against future threats.

As the situation develops, Hasbro remains dedicated to keeping stakeholders informed and ensuring minimal disruption to its business operations.
