3.8 Million Affected by Major Unlimited Technology Systems Breach

3.8 Million Affected by Major Unlimited Technology Systems Breach

Posted on August 7, 2026 By CWS

Unlimited Technology Systems has reported a significant data breach impacting the personal information of over 3.8 million individuals. The Ohio-based company specializes in financial and revenue cycle solutions for healthcare providers, boasting partnerships with more than 4,500 oncology offices and 6,500 specialty providers.

Details of the Breach

The breach was identified in October 2025 and involved a data center operated by Unlimited. The investigation revealed that unauthorized access occurred between October 5 and October 10, 2025. During this period, cybercriminals extracted sensitive data from the company’s systems.

The compromised data includes a range of personal details such as names, addresses, and contact information, alongside medical and health insurance data. Specifics such as Social Security numbers, medical record identifiers, diagnosis details, service dates, insurance policy numbers, claims information, and scanned documents like driver’s licenses were also accessed.

Company Response and Security Measures

Unlimited Technology Systems has clarified that the breach did not involve full medical records, medical imaging, or financial data like credit card and bank details. To date, there have been no reports of misuse of the compromised information. In response to the incident, the company is offering affected individuals two years of complimentary credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration services.

The company has informed the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) about the breach, which officially recorded the incident on its breach portal on August 6. Despite the severity of the breach, the perpetrators remain unidentified, and no known cybercrime groups have claimed responsibility for the attack.

Implications and Future Outlook

As cyber threats continue to evolve, this breach underscores the critical need for robust security measures within healthcare technology systems. Unlimited Technology Systems’ proactive steps in offering protective services highlight the importance of customer support in the aftermath of such incidents. The incident serves as a reminder for organizations to continuously assess and enhance their cybersecurity frameworks to safeguard sensitive data.

Related data breaches, such as those affecting Brown Health Medical Group-MA and Madera Community Hospital, further emphasize the widespread impact of cyber attacks in the healthcare sector. These breaches highlight the ongoing challenge of protecting personal and medical information from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
