Data Breach at Pokémon Center: Customer Details Exposed

Data Breach at Pokémon Center: Customer Details Exposed

Posted on August 18, 2026 By CWS

In a recent development, Pokémon Center has informed its customers in the United Kingdom and Germany about a data breach that compromised personal information. This security lapse stems from an incident involving their logistics partner, CEVA Logistics, necessitating the cancellation of certain pending orders.

Details of the Breach

The breach did not originate from Pokémon Center’s website but was traced to CEVA Logistics, which manages order fulfillment for Pokémon Center in the UK and Germany. The logistics company disclosed a cyberattack that began on July 30, 2026, which affected systems processing delivery information for multiple retail clients, including Pokémon Center.

CEVA Logistics reported the breach to Pokémon Center, revealing that unauthorized access might have exposed customer names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and order details. Fortunately, payment card information and other sensitive account data remain secure, as CEVA does not handle such details.

Impact on Customers

Pokémon Center’s UK website currently notifies customers about potential delays in order processing and delivery. However, many customers have experienced outright order cancellations. The company has apologized for these disruptions, which arose due to unforeseen fulfillment issues linked to the breach.

While the attack primarily affected Pokémon Center, it is part of a larger breach at CEVA Logistics, a major player in the global shipping and logistics industry. CEVA confirmed that the cyberattack disrupted operations across eight European warehouses, impacting various clients beyond Pokémon Center, including banks, retailers, and gaming companies like Valve.

Security Concerns and Future Outlook

The exposed data could be exploited for phishing schemes or fraudulent messages targeting Pokémon enthusiasts. Customers are advised to verify any communications regarding their orders exclusively through official Pokémon Center channels and remain vigilant against potential scams.

This incident highlights a growing trend in 2026 where cybercriminals target logistics providers to access multiple downstream retail brands. The breach emphasizes the importance of robust cybersecurity measures within the supply chain to prevent widespread data exposure.

Investigations by Dutch data protection authorities and law enforcement are underway, but CEVA has yet to identify the attack’s origin or the perpetrators. Customers should stay informed and cautious as the situation develops.
