Apple has rolled out crucial security updates for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, aimed at mitigating a series of vulnerabilities, predominantly within the WebKit browser engine. This move underscores the tech giant’s commitment to safeguarding user data and device functionality.
macOS and WebKit Vulnerability Fixes
The latest release, macOS Tahoe 26.6.2, addresses 28 security issues, with a significant portion—21 vulnerabilities—pertaining to WebKit. In tandem with the macOS update, iOS 26.6.1 and iPadOS 26.6.1 have been released to rectify all aforementioned 28 vulnerabilities. Notably, these updates also fix an authentication flaw in Telephony, which could potentially allow attackers to bypass IPSec authentication, posing risks to network traffic security.

Additionally, Apple has introduced updates for iOS 18.7.10 and iPadOS 18.7.10, addressing more than 120 bugs, including over 40 in WebKit. These issues, if left unaddressed, could lead to system instability, data breaches, and unauthorized access.
Moreover, the updates resolve 18 Kernel vulnerabilities that could be exploited for kernel memory corruption, system crashes, and unauthorized data access. Other components such as Accessibility, AirDrop, and Contacts also received critical security patches.
