Adobe and Nvidia Address Critical Software Vulnerabilities
On Tuesday, Adobe and Nvidia announced significant security updates to address several vulnerabilities in their products. These updates include fixes for critical flaws, emphasizing the importance of cybersecurity maintenance in the face of potential threats.
Nvidia’s Comprehensive Patch Release
Nvidia issued four new advisories highlighting numerous vulnerabilities, particularly in its enterprise AI security products, NemoClaw and OpenShell. Among the 18 reported vulnerabilities, two are deemed critical, posing risks such as code execution and privilege escalation.
Additionally, a dozen vulnerabilities have been classified as high severity, with potential impacts mirroring those of the critical issues. The DGX Spark AI computer also received updates to resolve five vulnerabilities, including three of high severity, to prevent code execution and other risks.
Moreover, the Unified Fabric Manager platform had two high- and three medium-severity vulnerabilities addressed, ensuring protection against code execution and privilege escalation. Nvidia’s fourth advisory provided guidance on mitigating Rohammer attacks specific to its GPUs.
Adobe’s Bi-Monthly Security Advisory Updates
In its latest security update, Adobe released seven advisories to tackle dozens of vulnerabilities across various products. Critical code execution vulnerabilities were patched in applications like Substance 3D Designer and Campaign Classic.
Illustrator and Content Credentials SDK were also updated to rectify denial of service and information exposure issues. Notably, Adobe clarified that none of these vulnerabilities have been exploited in the wild so far, although Campaign Classic was given a high priority rating for potential exploitation risks.
Security Reinforcement in Tech Industry
Nvidia had previously alerted customers about vulnerabilities in the Triton Inference Server, emphasizing the need for immediate attention to prevent arbitrary code execution. Similarly, recent patches in Cumulus Linux and NVOS addressed privilege escalation and code execution vulnerabilities.
