Cybersecurity startup Tenzai has emerged from stealth with $75 million in seed funding, one of many largest early-stage rounds reported within the sector.

Tel Aviv, Israel primarily based Tenzai has developed an AI-driven platform for penetration testing, which it says can constantly determine and deal with software program vulnerabilities. The corporate goals to automate a course of that has historically been guide and rare, a niche that has grown as software program improvement accelerates with the usage of AI-generated code and frequent manufacturing updates.

The corporate was based by a bunch of cybersecurity veterans: Pavel Gurvich, Ariel Zeitlin, Ofri Ziv, Itamar Tal, and Aner Mazur. Gurvich and Zeitlin beforehand co-founded Guardicore, which was acquired by Akamai Applied sciences in 2021 for $600 million. Mazur was previously chief product officer at developer safety agency Snyk.

Tenzai says it’s already piloting its platform with giant organizations within the monetary providers, healthcare, and expertise industries.

“Pentesting hasn’t modified a lot since I used to be a pentester in highschool some 25 years in the past,” mentioned Gurvich. “Again then the work was episodic and guide. At present, AI permits us to deliver elite, nation-grade offensive capabilities at a scale and pace that have been beforehand unimaginable. In giant enterprises with a whole bunch of purposes that change each day, offering actual safety assurance is just attainable with autonomous AI that may discover and repair vulnerabilities at enterprise scale.

The funding was led by Greylock Companions, Battery Ventures, and Lux Capital, with further participation from Swish Ventures and several other particular person buyers. The extra money can be used to develop its analysis and safety groups and to assist progress in North America and Europe.
