Trend Micro and Others Patch Critical Security Flaws

Trend Micro and Others Patch Critical Security Flaws

Posted on July 16, 2026 By CWS

This month, major cybersecurity firms including Trend Micro, ESET, Tenable, and Tanium have issued critical updates to rectify severe vulnerabilities in their products. These updates are crucial for maintaining the integrity and security of systems worldwide.

Tenable Addresses Critical Security Flaw

Earlier this week, Tenable communicated with its customers about a vital update addressing a critical path traversal vulnerability in the Tenable Agent, identified as CVE-2026-15265. This vulnerability posed a significant risk as it could potentially allow attackers to execute remote code.

ESET and Tanium Tackle High-Severity Issues

On Tuesday, ESET announced the resolution of a high-severity local privilege escalation flaw in its Inspect Connector for Windows. This vulnerability could have allowed attackers to exploit Advanced Local Procedure Call (ALPC) requests due to insufficient authentication measures. Additionally, ESET warned of a medium-severity denial-of-service (DoS) vulnerability affecting its Linux security products.

Last week, Tanium informed its users about a high-severity vulnerability in its Tanium Server. This flaw could enable an unauthenticated attacker to initiate a DoS attack, significantly impacting the server’s availability.

Trend Micro and Palo Alto Networks Release Updates

Trend Micro also alerted Cleaner One Pro users about a high-severity local privilege escalation issue, which could allow the deletion of crucial files. Concurrently, Palo Alto Networks released patches for over a dozen vulnerabilities, fortifying its products against potential threats.

Despite no current evidence of exploitation, the cybersecurity landscape frequently sees threat actors targeting security products. Recently, both Palo Alto Networks and Trend Micro have confirmed instances of real-world exploitation, underscoring the importance of these updates.

These developments highlight the ongoing battle to secure digital environments against evolving threats. Users are strongly advised to apply these patches promptly to safeguard their systems.
