Mate Security, a Tel Aviv-based startup specializing in AI-driven Security Operations Centers (SOC), has successfully raised $35 million in a Series A funding round. This latest funding elevates the company’s total financial backing to over $50 million.
Investment Led by Major Partners
The funding round was spearheaded by Canaan Partners, with significant contributions from Insight Partners, Microsoft’s Venture Fund M12, and Team8. This financial boost arrives eight months after Mate Security transitioned out of its stealth phase, marking a significant milestone for the company.
Founded in 2025 by former executives from Wiz and Microsoft, Mate Security has developed an innovative platform that leverages artificial intelligence to revolutionize security operations. Their agentic SOC transforms these operations into adaptive, continuously learning defense systems.
Innovative Approach to Security
Mate Security’s platform creates a bespoke security context graph for each client, incorporating factors such as assets, business processes, users, and data. This graph is fundamental in conducting detections, managing triage and incident investigations, and executing threat hunting and incident response activities.
The platform operates on a Continuous Detection, Continuous Response (CDCR) framework, which allows it to retain insights from each investigation. This continuous learning process enhances future detection capabilities, providing a dynamic and responsive security posture for organizations.
Future Growth and Expansion Plans
With plans to double its workforce by the year’s end, Mate Security intends to utilize the newly acquired funds to bolster its customer support, sales, and R&D departments. Additionally, the company aims to strengthen its market presence.
Mate Security’s co-founder and CEO, Asaf Wiener, emphasized the importance of building a foundation based on context and trust. He stated, “We will continue to move swiftly and remain intensely focused on our customers as we venture into new markets and categories to establish the Open Security Operations foundation of the future.”
This strategic investment positions Mate Security to further develop its cutting-edge technology and expand its influence in the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape.
